Beach do Garrão is a large maritime beach in the municipality of Loulé, set in the Almancil coastal area between Vale do Lobo, Dunas Douradas and the wider Quinta do Lago coast. Official sources treat the area through two recognised bathing sections: Garrão Nascente and Garrão Poente. VisitPortugal describes Garrão as a large sandy beach near the limits of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, but outside the protected area. It is presented as suitable for different types of visitor, from those looking for quieter sand to those wanting a more serviced beach with nautical-sports options. The beach is therefore best understood as a resort-area beach with broad sand, restaurant access and natural dune scenery, rather than as a remote wild beach. The landscape changes along the shore.
